COCHRANE LAKE CONCEPTUAL SCHEME
Approved in 1995
Description: A non-statutory document to address generalized land use and planning for a portion of the Cochrane Lake area.

COCHRANE NORTH AREA STRUCTURE PLAN (ASP)
Approved in 2007, amended in 2018
Description: Identified lands as part of the “Hamlet”, which includes commercial, institutional, recreational and residential land uses. Indicates that the “Hamlet” is to be the community focal point or “community heart” for the Cochrane north area.
Key components:
- Pedestrian-oriented and walkable neighbourhoods
- Linked open spaces
- Create a range of housing choices to meet different lifestyle needs
- Take advantage of natural features

COCHRANE LAKE HAMLET PLAN
Approved in 2011
Description: Lands are labeled as “Neighbourhood C” within the “Hamlet Expansion Area” and identified for a range of housing forms, public spaces and minor commercial activity.
Key components:
- Existing servicing and infrastructure as per servicing standards, wastewater servicing strategy and potable water servicing strategy
- A complete community
- Housing choices suitable to a range of lifestyles and the human life cycle
- Appropriate transitions to neighbouring agricultural uses and residential infill areas
- Pedestrian connectivity / walkable neighbourhood

COCHRANE LAND USE BYLAW
Approved in 2020
Description: Subject lands are designated in the Land Use Bylaw as Agricultural, Small Parcel District (A-SML) Residential, Rural District (R-RUR). A Land Use Amendment is required to redesignate the lands to allow for development of lands as per the Conceptual Scheme.
